Desiree Ashton

doing the legwork, so you don't have to

Since 2007 I have operated as a free-lance Virtual PA to a variety of small businesses, ranging from one-man bands to 15-strong consultant teams.  My clients operate in a number of fields – financial services, training, business coaching, management consulting and marketing.

Sometimes I work with them as individuals, at other times as part of their bigger team.  In very general terms, I am what my clients need me to be.  More often than not, this is an extension of themselves.

Few of my clients have full-time dedicated admin resource and so they rely on me to help them off-load tasks which will free up their time and allow them to concentrate on doing what they enjoy, what they do best, and what feeds their bottom line.  Whether it’s preparing background papers, researching a new venture, communicating with clients or managing the logistics and resources for a project roll-out, I do the legwork, so my clients don’t have to.

For me, the best part of what I do is that I get to work with people who think creatively.  Invariably, they have previously worked in the corporate sphere and have taken a conscious decision to step out of that arena to strike out on their own.  They operate in  dynamic sectors which demand a high degree of flexibility and I am able to support them in this.  They are interesting people with great businesses and I’m proud to play a part in what they do.

Finally, as this is a blog and blogs are about conversations, here are a couple of lesser-known facts about me:

  • I have a Blue Peter badge
  • One of my drawings was featured on Take Hart

If nothing else, I hope that’s made you nod and smile, and given you a rough idea of my age …. If you’d like to find out more about what I do and what my clients think of me, please visit my website.
